Sherwin Williams Dashing: Complete Color Review

Published: Oct 27, 2025 · Modified: Jan 28, 2026 by Meg · This post may contain affiliate links ·

If you’re looking for a white paint color that feels fresh and easy to live with, Sherwin Williams Dashing might be worth a closer look.

I reach for white paint a lot because it gives you a clean, neutral starting point and instantly makes a space feel brighter and more open. It’s one of those colors that works with almost any style.

However, white paint colors aren't so easy to pick! There are SO many shades of white. White paint colors can have various undertones, can lean so creamy as to be almost greige or can be so stark as to be almost blinding. The choices are endless!

The best way to find a white paint color for your home is to dive into the details, swatch your top picks, and pick the one that you like best! So let’s break down Sherwin Williams Dashing and see if it’s the white that works for you.

Sherwin Williams Dashing Paint Color Guide

    Color Family

Dashing is in the white family.

    Light Reflectance Value

    83

Light Reflective Value is the measurement of how much light a color bounces around. This is on a scale of 0 to 100 with 0 being pure black and 100 being pure white.

With an LRV of 83, Dashing is a very light and bright paint color. But, it's worth noting that it's not a pure white (LRV of 100). It's not even super super close!

This will be more evident if you pair your Dashing with something that's actually white. Put a piece of blank printer paper next to it and suddenly you will see!

Generally, anything with an LRV from 72-82 is considered off-white, with anything higher than 82 being true white.

    RGB Colors

    R: 234 G: 235 B: 232

RGB shows how much red, green, and blue are mixed together to create the color. Each value runs from 0 to 255. Think of this as the recipe behind the paint color.

    Hex Code

    #EAEBE8

    Undertones

Dashing has subtle green and gray undertones. It's even been known to have a smidge of purple in there.

In south-facing rooms with lots of natural light, Dashing appears lighter, brighter, and slightly warmer. Its green undertone may even make an appearance here, especially if theirs any trees or bushes near the window.

In north-facing rooms that lack natural light, Dashing will appear a bit darker and cooler. Its purple undertone may make an appearance here if the lighting conditions are just right.

This is one of those whites that really changes depending on the space, so I always recommend swatching it on your walls and checking it throughout the day before making your final choice.

    Coordinating Colors

Dashing is very neutral and therefore can play with almost any color scheme. However, I do not suggest pairing it with a pure white color, or it will look dingy.

I like to pair Dashing with grays, blues, and greens, but it plays well with most other colors.

    Mid-toned grays:

    • Breakwater
    • Network Gray
    • Mineral Deposit
    • Gray Matters
    • Morning Fog

    Deep blues:

    • Rain Cloud
    • Outerspace
    • Waterloo
    • Bunglehouse Blue
    • Tempe Star

    Mid-toned green-grays:

    • Evergreen Fog
    • Cornwall Slate
    • Illusive Green
    • Canal Street
    • Dried Thyme

    Trim Colors

For white paint colors, I think the best option is to use the same color for the walls and for the trim. Just choose a different finish for tone on tone contrast.

So, choose Dashing in eggshell finish for the walls and Dashing in semi-gloss for the trim. This gives a soft, finished look.
