Looking for the perfect off-white paint color for your home? Let’s talk about Sherwin Williams Windfresh White and if it might be right for your home!
White is a classic choice, and for good reason—it pairs well with just about everything.
But if you want a light and airy room that doesn’t feel too cold or sterile, I’ve found that a warm off-white can be a better fit.
Warm whites give you that fresh, neutral backdrop while still making the space feel inviting and cozy. They’re super versatile and work well with all kinds of decor.
One warm white I love is Sherwin Williams Windfresh White. It’s an off-white with a touch of greige, making it calming and soft.
If you’re curious about how it could work in your space, let's explore the details and see why it might be the perfect choice!

Windfresh White, Sherwin Williams, SW 7628

Color Family
Windfresh White is in the white family.
Light Reflectance Value
69
Light Reflective Value is the measurement of how much light a color bounces around. This is on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 being pure black and 100 being pure white.
With an LRV of 69, Windfresh White is really more of an off-white (or even a greige) than a true white.
But, this can be great in a very bright room, which washes colors out and will definitely make this color feel lighter and whiter than it is.

RGB describes the amount of each color - red, green, and blue - present in a color.
This is on a scale of 0 to 255 for each color. This is basically the color mix to make the color!

Undertones
Windfresh White is a warm white with a subtle violet undertone.
I’ve found that these undertones become more noticeable when paired with accent colors like green or yellow.
If you have a south-facing room with lots of natural light, Windfresh White will feel lighter and warmer, almost like a soft off-white.
But in north-facing rooms with less natural light, it can lean a little cooler and darker, taking on more of a greige or off-white vibe.
It's very important to swatch colors on your wall to make sure they look good – day and night – in your actual space before committing.

Best uses
Windfresh White is neutral enough to work as a whole house paint color, but I wouldn’t recommend using it in dark or north-facing rooms.
In spaces with low light, it can sometimes look a little dingy or dirty. It really shines in bright spaces, though!
The same goes for using it on the exterior of your home.
Since exterior colors tend to look lighter and warmer in the sunlight, Windfresh White might end up looking a bit too warm or confusing (Is it white? Is it not white?).
I wouldn’t choose it for the exterior of a home, especially if you’re after a clean, crisp look.
Windfresh White is a great choice for any of the spaces below, as long as they are well-lit spaces:
- Living rooms
- Bedrooms
- Kitchens
- Bathrooms
- Home exterior

Trim Colors
For a white wall color, I actually prefer to use the same color - in this case, Windfresh White - for the trim.
I think that the monochromatic look gives a really soft feeling to the space. I usually use an eggshell finish on the walls and semi gloss on the trim.
However, if you want a pure white trim for a more modern, contrasting look, stick to a crisp clean white.
- Benjamin Moore Simply White
- Sherwin Williams Extra White
- Behr Ultra Pure White
