Read our Quiet Moments vs Sea Salt paint color comparison to find the perfect green-blue-gray paint color for your home.

As neutrals, blues and greens are so popular right now, it's no surprise these "chameleon colors" are catching so many eyes.

These are the colors that slide between gray, blue, and green, depending on the lighting. They're perfect if you're aiming for a calming, serene look with a bit of subtle color.

Today I want to compare two of the most popular of these calming shades: Quiet Moments and Sea Salt.

So keep reading our breakdown of these popular paint colors to learn all the similarities and differences.

    Quiet Moments vs Sea Salt

Let’s break down the similarities first. Both Quiet Moments and Sea Salt are part of the neutral blue-green paint family.

They’re light, bright, and versatile enough to work in almost any room. Sea Salt is generally more popular, though they're very similar.

What is similar about Quiet Moments vs Sea Salt?

Their Light Reflectance Values (LRVs) are close, meaning they reflect a similar amount of light, making their color depth pretty comparable.

They're favorites for many rooms in the home, especially bathrooms and bedrooms.

What is different about Quiet Moments vs Sea Salt?

Now, let’s talk differences. Quiet Moments leans a bit more blue, while Sea Salt has a slightly greener vibe.

These differences can be more noticeable depending on your room's lighting.

    Here’s the nitty-gritty:

    • Quiet Moments: A gray shade with blue-green undertones.
    • Sea Salt: Leans green with gray-blue undertones.

In terms of LRV, Sea Salt is a bit lighter (63) compared to Quiet Moments (61).

    Light Reflectance Value

Light Reflective Value is the measurement of how much light a color bounces around. This is on a scale of 0 to 100 with 0 being pure black and 100 being pure white.

These are both mid-toned paint colors, though they aren't equal in color depth.

With an LRV of 61, Quiet Moments is a bit darker compared to Sea Salt, which has an LRV of 63.

    Undertones

This is where Quiet Moments and Sea Salt differ, even though they may appear quite similar on the wall!

Quiet Moments is a gray paint color with blue and green undertones, and Sea Salt is a green paint color with gray and blue undertones.

Overall, you'll notice that Quiet Moments gives off more of a blue hint, whereas Sea Salt tends to be greener.

Thinking about your room’s lighting can help you decide.

In a south-facing room with lots of natural light, both colors might look greener.

In a north-facing room with less light, they’ll appear cooler and more gray-blue.

It's very important to swatch colors on your wall to make sure they look good – day and night – in your actual space before committing.

How do I decide between these two colors?

So, how do you choose between the two?

If you’re looking for a lighter, greener shade, go for Sea Salt.

If you prefer something slightly darker and more on the blue side, Quiet Moments is your pick.

Choosing the right paint color can make a huge difference in your space, so take your time and pick the one that feels just right for you!
