Looking for the perfect beige paint color? Let's talk about Sherwin Williams Balanced Beige and if it might be perfect for your home!

Beige is an increasingly popular home paint color.

It is a great neutral with warm undertones that makes it feel cozy and inviting in any space.

One of the most popular beige paint colors is Sherwin Williams Balanced Beige.

This is a unique color because of it's balanced undertones and it's ability to morph itself in different lighting situations.

Let's dive into Balanced Beige and see if it might be the perfect paint color for your home!

Sherwin Williams Balanced Beige paint color guide

    Sherwin Williams Balanced Beige SW7037

Balanced Beige is a great neutral paint color that, while technically warm, is on the neutral side of warm. This gives it a ton of versatility and makes it easy to work with in many homes.

    Color Family

Balanced Beige is in the beige color family.

    Light Reflectance Value

    46

Light Reflective Value is the measurement of how much light a color bounces around. This is on a scale of 0 to 100 with 0 being pure black and 100 being pure white.

With an LRV of 46, Balanced Beige is considered a mid-toned color - not super light, not dark.

This means that if you have a very bright room, it will not be washed out and will still hold its color. But, if you want a very bright color, it might not be right for you.

    RGB Colors

    R:92 G:178 B:162

RGB describes the amount of each color - red, green, and blue - present in a color. This is on a scale of 0 to 255 for each color. This is basically the color mix to make the color!

    Hex Code

    #C0B2A2

    Undertones

Balanced Beige is a warm toned paint color. However, it does not have yellow or golden undertones and instead leans more towards warm gray.

This will be especially apparent in a room with cool lighting - such as a northern-facing room. In this type of light, the color will feel cooler and more gray/greige.

On the flipside, in a room with bright, warm light - like a south facing room - it will feel much warmer and beige-r.

Some people say that Balanced Beige can read a bit green in certain lighting - so be sure to swatch it in your home!

It's very important to swatch colors on your wall to make sure they look good – day and night – in your actual space before committing.

    Best uses

Balanced Beige is a great neutral. If it fits your aesthetic, it works well in:

    • whole house paint color
    • bedrooms
    • bathrooms
    • living rooms
    • kitchen, paired with very light or very dark cabinetry

    Similar Colors

    • Sherwin Williams Gobi Beige
    • Sherwin Williams Shittake
    • Behr Smokestack
    • Behr Pebblestone
    • Benjamin Moore Gallery Buff
    • Benjamin Moore Stone Hearth
    • Valspar Kiln Clay
    • PPG Discover

    Coordinating Colors

Balanced Beige is neutral enough to pair with a variety of paint colors. However, I really like it paired with dark greiges and light blues and greens.

I would avoid pairing it with any light grays or tans as the undertones can easily clash.

    Dark Greige:

    • SW Porpoise
    • SW Moth Wing
    • SW Grizzle Gray
    • SW Peppercorn
    • SW Urbane Bronze
    • SW Indigo Batik (navy but pairs wonderfully!)

    Light blues & greens:

    • SW Sea Salt
    • SW Misty
    • SW Silver Strand
    • SW Rainwashed

    Trim Colors

I prefer to pair Balanced Beige with a bright white trim color.

    Bright white trim colors:

    • Benjamin Moore Simply White
    • Sherwin Williams Extra White
    • Behr Ultra Pure White
