Looking for the perfect creamy beige paint color for your home? Let’s talk about Behr Coastal Beige and if it might be right for your home!
Looking for a warm neutral paint color? Perhaps a cross between white, cream, and beige? You just might be interested in Behr Coastal Beige.
Coastal Beige isn't a typical white paint color. It's a very soft, creamy white, verging on the edge of beige.
It's extremely versatile, blending seamlessly with various color palettes, finishes, and decor styles. It provides a neutral backdrop but still feels cozy and inviting. Let's take a closer look!

Coastal Beige, Behr, PPU7-13
Coastal Beige is technically a white, but its yellow undertone gives it a soft warmth, so it often appears as a creamy beige. I love how it makes a space feel light and fresh, but still comfortable.
Color Family
Coastal Beige is in the yellow family.
Light Reflectance Value
83
Light Reflective Value is the measurement of how much light a color bounces around. This is on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 being pure black and 100 being pure white.
In general, colors with an LRV between 72 and 82 are considered off-whites. Anything above that is a true white.
With an LRV of 83, this technically makes Coastal Beige a white, although you can see it's right on the edge, which explains why it often appears cream.

Undertones
Coastal Beige is a creamy beige with strong warm yellow undertones. Its warmth keeps it from feeling cold or stark despite being classified as a white paint color.
In south-facing rooms with lots of natural light, Coastal Beige looks brighter and warmer. You may notice that gentle warmth comes through depending on the time of day.
In north-facing rooms that lack natural light, Coastal Beige can look slightly deeper and more neutral. However, it will still feel soft.
It's very important to swatch colors on your wall to make sure they look good – day and night – in your actual space before committing.

Trim Colors
You have two great trim options with a cream like Coastal Beige: (1) go with a crisp white for contrast, or (2) use Coastal Beige for both walls and trim for a tone-on-tone look.
Note, Coastal Beige does not pair well with soft whites for trim as the varying levels of warmth can clash.
If you use crisp white, these are great options:
- Benjamin Moore Simply White
- Sherwin Williams Extra White
- Behr Ultra Pure White
If you want to use Coastal Beige for both walls and trim, just choose a different finish for tone on tone contrast.
So, choose Coastal Beige in eggshell finish for the walls and Coastal Beige in semi-gloss for the trim. This gives a nice, soft finished look.
