Green-gray paint colors bring a timeless elegance to any room or decor style! They add sophistication — whether you use green as a neutral or pair it with other colors for a bold statement.

Greens also bring an outdoorsy feel, great for creating cozy, calming spaces with a natural vibe.

But greens can vary from gray to brown to blue to yellow, so knowing the details is crucial before you decide!

Escape Gray and Evergreen Fog are just one step away from each other on the paint stick, which means they share a lot of similarities... and a few key differences!

Fun fact: Evergreen Fog was Sherwin Williams' 2022 Color of the Year. It's safe to say it's a popular shade!

What is similar about Escape Gray vs Evergreen Fog?

Both Escape Gray and Evergreen Fog are mid-toned green-gray beauties.

They share undertones of blue, warm gray, and tan — giving rooms an organic, timeless vibe.

Moreover, these shades pair perfectly with soft white trims for a classy look.

What is different about Escape Gray vs Evergreen Fog?

Escape Gray is lighter, more muted, and more neutral compared to Evergreen Fog.

Evergreen Fog is darker, more saturated, and leans more into the green spectrum.

While they share undertones, their personalities differ. Escape Gray mixes blue and warm gray with a hint of tan. Evergreen Fog blends warm gray and tan with a touch of blue.

Escape Gray and Evergreen Fog are both mid-toned paint colors.

However, Escape Gray (LRV 41) is a good bit lighter than Evergreen Fog (LRV 30).

    Undertones

Both colors have similar undertones but show them differently.

Escape Gray has blue and warm gray vibes, sometimes with a hint of tan or brown.

Evergreen Fog boasts warm gray and tan, occasionally showing a bit of blue.

In sunny south-facing rooms, both colors appear warmer and more saturated, highlighting their tan undertones.

In north-facing rooms with less light, they’ll look cooler, bringing out their blue and gray sides.

It's very important to swatch colors on your wall to make sure they look good – day and night – in your actual space before committing.
