Behr Grounded: A Complete Color Review

Published: Sep 13, 2026 by Meg · This post may contain affiliate links ·

Looking for the perfect mossy olive paint color for your home? Let’s talk about Behr Grounded and if it might be right for your home!

Olive green is such a stunning choice if you want something timeless but trendy, earthy but moody.

It’s one of those shades that just works. Neutral yet colorful. Classic yet modern.

If you’re stuck choosing a green, I think you’ll love Behr Grounded, 2027 Color of the Year.

Deep greens like Grounded are dark enough to act like a neutral but bold enough to make a statement. Pair it with other deep shades for a dramatic look or soften it with light tones. The possibilities are endless!

Let’s take a closer look at Behr Grounded and why this Color of the Year might be the perfect green for your home.

    Behr Grounded Paint Color Guide

    Grounded, Behr, T27-01

Grounded is a soft, moody mossy olive green with earthy brown undertones. It feels fresh and organic while adding a dose of moodiness.

    Color Family

Grounded is in the green family.

    Light Reflectance Value

    11

Light Reflective Value is the measurement of how much light a color bounces around. This is on a scale of 0 to 100 with 0 being pure black and 100 being pure white.

With an LRV of 11, Grounded is on the darker side.

If your room has low lighting, it will feel rich and cocooning. If your space gets a lot of natural light, it will brighten up a bit but still stay deep and moody.

    RGB Colors

    R: 94 G: 92 B: 80

RGB describes the amount of each color - red, green, and blue - present in a color. This is on a scale of 0 to 255 for each color. This is basically the color mix to make the color!

    Undertones

Grounded is a mossy olive with earthy brown and subtle yellow undertones.

If your room gets a lot of natural light, especially from the south, you’ll notice more of Grounded's warmth. It can look a bit cozier and slightly more golden or brown.

In a north facing or dim space, Grounded will read deeper and slightly moodier. It stays green, though. It's not dark enough to turn black.

It's very important to swatch colors on your wall to make sure they look good – day and night – in your actual space before committing.

As a dark, green paint color, Behr Grounded can be used as a bold pop of color or as a timeless, subtle hue.

Can you pair Behr Grounded with other greens?

Yes, Grounded can look great with other greens as long as there is some contrast. Lighter greens keep the combination from blending too much.

Lastly, Grounded is more muted and Fig Tree more saturated.

Since these two are pretty similar, it's helpful to swatch them side by side. Then you can see which one feels right in your space.

Behr Grounded and Mountain Olive are olive greens that share many similarities.

While they have similar undertones, Grounded leans more brown / orange and Mountain Olive more yellow.

Grounded is ever so slightly darker than Mountain Olive. Both are dark.

If you’re torn between the two, try swatching them side by side to see which one feels right in your space.
