Looking for the perfect warm gray paint color for your home? Let's compare Amazing Gray vs Agreeable Gray to see if one might be perfect for your space!

Warm gray and greige paint colors have been popular for years.

They provide a neutral backdrop to a room while still feeling warm and cozy. They also go with a variety of decor styles and finishes.

Warm grays or greiges are often a choice for people who love the warmth of beige but want the modern look of gray.

Even once you've decided to go with a warm gray, there is a big decision to make! Warm grays can vary in terms of undertones and color depth.

Today I want to compare two super popular shades of warm gray paint – Amazing Gray and Agreeable Gray.

Let's talk about the difference between these two popular shades.

    Amazing Gray vs Agreeable Gray

Amazing Gray and Agreeable Gray are popular warm gray paint colors that can be used in a variety of rooms in the home.

What is similar about Amazing Gray vs Agreeable Gray?

Amazing Gray and Agreeable Gray are both popular gray paint colors, both sometimes referred to as greige since they are warm grays.

Both are neutral, warm colors that will make your room feel comfortable. However, they vary in undertones and color depth.

Neither of these grays reads blue or cool, as some gray paint colors do.

What is different about Amazing Gray vs Agreeable Gray?

Amazing Gray is warmer and darker than Agreeable Gray.

Amazing Gray has more beige or brown in it than Agreeable Gray, which makes Agreeable Gray the cooler of the two colors (cooler while still being a warm gray!).

Amazing Gray has an LRV of 47 vs Agreeable Gray's LRV of 60. This means Agreeable Gray is a nice choice for a whole house paint color.

Amazing Gray works better in south-facing rooms with lots of natural light, but it may be too dark in north-facing rooms without a lot of natural light.

While both have warm undertones, they come across differently.

Amazing Gray has warm green-gray undertones. On the other hand, Agreeable Gray has minimal undertones and instead often reflects the colors around it, especially pinks, yellows, and tans.

    Light Reflectance Value

Light Reflective Value is the measurement of how much light a color bounces around. This is on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 being pure black and 100 being pure white.

Amazing Gray is a mid-toned gray, and Agreeable Gray is a light gray.

With an LRV of 60, Agreeable Gray is lighter and brighter compared to Amazing Gray (LRV 47).

    Undertones

While both Passive and Repose Gray have warm undertones, they come across differently.

Amazing Gray has warm green-gray undertones. Meanwhile, Agreeable Gray is a warm gray that is known for reflecting the colors around it, especially pinks, yellows, and tans.

In south-facing rooms, Amazing Gray and Agreeable Gray may both look lighter and lean more gray.

In north-facing rooms, Amazing Gray and Agreeable Gray may both be slightly darker and more beige.

It's very important to swatch colors on your wall to make sure they look good – day and night – in your actual space before committing.

How do I decide between these two colors?

If your room doesn’t get much natural light or you are worried about a color looking dark, go with Agreeable Gray since it's a lighter color.

If you want more of a greige or something that leans brown, go with Amazing Gray. If you want more of a warm gray, go with Agreeable Gray.

You may want to test these two gray colors to see how the different undertones and LRV numbers look and feel in your space.
