Looking for the perfect white paint color for your home? Let’s compare Cloud White vs White Dove to see if one might be perfect for your space!
Warm whites are very popular.
They provide a neutral backdrop for many decor styles and finishes while avoiding the crisp, stark feeling that cool whites sometimes offer.
Warm whites can make a space feel cozy and sophisticated.
There are many warm white paint colors out there, and undertones can play a big role in how colors appear on the wall.
It’s important to know what you’re getting into before you pick up paint samples!

Cloud White and White Dove are popular colors for both walls and trim.
What is different about Cloud White vs White Dove?
Cloud White is lighter than White Dove. White Dove is a bit darker.

Light Reflectance Value
Light Reflective Value is the measurement of how much light a color bounces around.
This is on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 being pure black and 100 being pure white.
LRVs higher than 82 are considered true whites, so both Cloud White and White Dove are true white paint colors.
White Dove is close to that off-white dividing line, so it is a bit darker than Cloud White.
Cloud White is lighter and will reflect more light back into a room.
Undertones
While both Cloud White and White Dove have warm undertones, the colors of those undertones vary.
Cloud White has taupe undertones, and White Dove has yellow and slightly green undertones.
While both are warm paint colors, Cloud White is slightly warmer than White Dove.
Both colors often appear as true whites, although when compared next to each other, Cloud White will look a bit creamier.
One thing to note is that warm white paint colors sometimes appear a bit green in homes with LED lighting, which is bluish. So if you have LED lighting, test it in your home to check!
It’s very important to swatch colors on your wall to make sure they look good – day and night – in your actual space before committing.
